Bentec awarded multi-million dollar contract by Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo in Poland

German headquartered manufacturer of drilling rigs and oilfield equipment, Bentec today announces that it has signed a new contract with Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo (PGNiG,) to supply a new build 2,000 HP drilling rig, with a hook load capacity of 500 tonnes (these must be metric tons).

The high performance land rig will be manufactured at Bentec’s production facilities in Bad Bentheim and will incorporate the latest pipe handling solutions, a remote controlled Iron Roughneck and a (Hydraulic Catwalk System and Rig Walking System).  The rig is scheduled to start operating in Poland later this year, with delivery to PGNiG scheduled for the Autumn.

PGNiG is one of the largest companies in Poland and is listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.

It has exploration and production activities in Norway, Russia, Libya and Pakistan and has a long term plan to increase its exploration and production activities by 35% by 2022.

In addition to the rig delivery scope, the contract includes extensive pre-operations crew training and full on site start up support.
